JPB May 2013 Survey
The Great Plains Junior Program Board recently held a couple of general forums. Some items were discussed but it was decided that more input from more adults affiliated with a junior program was needed. Scott Carne, the Junior Representative is very interested in your opinion. Further decisions on these items will be made and presented to the Great Plains Board of Directors in the early part of June. To give your input, please complete the survey before May 30. Thank you for your participation.

Early Commitment Date
There’s been an idea brought forward to possibly allow players to sign with a club before the stated commitment date. Commitments by other players would need to wait until the specific region commitment date. If an early commitment date was considered, a 'dead' period would also be in effect from the end of the early commitment date until the Region stated commitment date.

a. Allow only current players within a specific club to commit early with the same club during a specific period of time (probably 2 weeks during the first part of August)
b. Allow any player to commit early with the same club during a specific period of time (probably 2 weeks during the first part of August).
c. Allow only current players within a specific club to commit early with the same club at any time after the end of the season.
d. Allow any player to commit early with the same club at any time after the end of the season.
e. No early commitment date.

Tournaments
The level of tournaments was changed this past year. An idea has been brought forward to change the tournament levels back to Gold, Silver, Bronze. Gold tournaments would be match play with paid referees. Silver tournaments would be 2 (0-25) sets in pool play followed by a single elimination tournament. Bronze tournaments would be 2 sets in pool play with a reduced number of points, followed by a single elimination tournament with a reduced number of points. Would you be in favor of this change?

This past year, Level 1 and Level 2 tournaments were intended for Gold level teams. Level 1 tournaments played match play and had paid referees. Level 2 tournaments played 2 full (0-25) sets in pool play, followed by a single elimination tournament with no paid referees. Considering the information presented in the question above about the proposed changes, would you be in favor of:
*
a. Did not play in Level 1 or Level 2 tournaments
b. Make all Gold tournaments the same as Level 1 tournaments from last year (full match play, followed by single elimination tournament with paid referees).
c. Allow Gold tournaments to have an option of match play or pool play (2 sets only), followed by a single elimination tournament (both types to have paid referees).
If given a choice, would you choose to start play in the afternoon (at 2:30 or 3:00 pm?)
